STOP WASTE DISPOSAL OVERCHARGING!

Charities, schools, universities, hospitals, prisons, churches care homes, retirement homes, caravan and camping sites and community halls have been forced to wrongly pay for private waste disposal for years by classifying their waste as “commercial waste”. The legislation clearly states that the local waste authority has the responsibility of treating these organisations the same as they treat “household waste”. They are allowed to charge a fee for pick up, but not for the disposal cost.

DEFRA has informed each waste authority which types of organisations are to be treated the same as “household waste”, but has left it up to these authorities to make any financial adjustments.
